Bruges in the Snow
Late March was unseasonably cold in the low countries – chilly temperatures, biting winds and cloudy days. The only redeeming thing about cold weather is lovely snow. We got a dusting overnight in Bruges which made the Medieval brick houses and empty cobbled streets really stand out. I gladly put on an extra sweater and enjoyed a peaceful morning stroll through town!

Never been, and really must get back to the Low countries and vist all these fabulous places. Looks lovely, but freezing! When will Spring/summer finally arrive? We are all tired of putting a brave place in it. In Dublin, or in Brrrrr… Brrruges. (sorry!)

You definitely must get to the Low Countries. I’ll be getting into the art in the next few weeks which was great!

Great, I look forward to that. and yes, if memory serves they have some very good things in Bruges, including a very good altar piece, by my favourite genius Jan Van Eyck. It’s the best one I’ve ever seen certainly, astonishing. Looking forward to your posts and reading about various masterpieces there. -A. 🙂
